thatfridaynightthing & me
how can you say 'i m discouraged',
if you know for a certain,
the source of encouragement comes from His character & promises?
if indeed, you are servant only to God,
and, if indeed, He is your audience of One,
how can you say ' i am discouraged'?
if what the Bible says is true,
how can you say 'i am discouraged'?
if He is the God whom you know to be - sovereign and faithful,
how can you say 'i am discouraged'?
if you understand that the world is fallen
just as you are
how can you be frustrated with those around you
without being frustrated with yourself as well?
you see, that's the problem.
i get frustrated when people fail to meet my expectations -
unrealistic, unrealistic expectations.
dont come into a christian community,
and expect it to be all holy & perfect -
it's the sinners that attend the church.
in fact, perhaps, christians have it 'harder' sometimes.
the fear of the Lord compels us to struggle against our fallen nature,
while we mask ourselves for the fear of man.
while hypocrisy is real in 'christians',
it's a defence mechanism that stems from the knowledge that everyone is 'just like me'
'everyone has got something to hide, because i do.'
i must learn to self-examine & intercede,
in areas where i see others fail.
but christ followers have got it easy too -
because when all is seemingly lost,
we know we've got faith hope & love.
so be discouraged not.
